Recent Installations Florida Today, Melbourne Florida: NELA VCP vision register bender placed in connection with two existing Kodak Trendsetters. It replaced a competitive bender running edge register to provide improved registration as well as multiple web widths. Biloxi Sun Herald, Biloxi, MS: Benchmark placed in connection with a Screen/SLP plate line, replacing film imaged plates and a competitive manual bender. Naples Daily News, Naples FL: Two NELA VCP's in connection with two Agfa Advantage plate lines for a new Wifag press installation. Project included an automated conveyor system, plate elevator and sorter to supply plates to different press levels. Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta, GA: Modified three existing NELA Evolution vision benders to run 44/46/48/50" web widths for 44" web reduction. Rock Tenn, Claremont, NC: NELA HAO-U semi-automatic universal punch/bender for Komori Chambon variable cutoff web press. Replaces aging NELA Ternes Universal EH bender. Brunswick News, Brunswick, GA: NELA Benchmark in connection with Kodak Trendsetter imaging no-process plates. Replaces manual bender used for film-imaged plates. Miami Herald, Miami, FL: Modifying three NELA VCP vision benders for a 44" web reduction. Bender will run 44/46/48/50" formats after completion. Stuart Web, Stuart, FL: NELA Benchmark in connection with two Screen/SLP plate lines for DGM 430 press in a new facility. Replaces manual Ternes punch and bender, providing full automation of the platemaking process. Tampa Tribune, Tampa, FL: A third NELA VCP was added to the existing two Agfa Advantage/NELA VCP plate lines. The new bender does 44" and 46" web widths for the recent web reduction and the existing VCP's were modified to with 44” and 46” web widths. Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Sarasota, FL.: Two NELA Benchmark benders with four bin sorting system in connection with two Agfa Advantage plate lines for 44" web reduction. They replaced two aging Western OPB's. Moline Dispatch, Moline, IL: NELA Benchmark placed in connection with a Kodak Trendsetter CTP line. The system replaced conventional film processing as the Moline Dispatch converted to CTP. San Antonio Express, San Antonio, TX: One NELA VCP vision bender connected with an Agfa Advantage and three pre-processor conveyor systems. This third NELA VCP installation included a 90° plate rotating conveyor system to rotate plates prior to entering the processors. Argus Leader, Sioux Falls, SD: NELA Classic II bender and NELA Slot Locks with a web reduction for a Harris press that included modification to existing NELA VCP. Woodward Printing, Platteville, WI: NELA HAO-P semi-automatic punch/bender for a new ECRM CTP installation. Customer prints community newspapers, inserts, and commercial printing. Hampton Chronicle, Hampton, IA: NELA HAO-P semi-automatic punch/bender and NELA Slot Locks, to be used to complete their registration upgrade on a Community press. The Hampton Chronicle also installed Kodak Trendsetter with no processor plates. Chicago Tribune, Chicago, IL: NELA is installing an 80 Bin Sortation with Dual Path Conveyor System that will allow sorting any plate from any CTP device into any bin. The Chicago Tribune is converting from 8 conventional film lines to five Krause CTP lines with seven benders. El Universo, Quite, Ecuador: NELA VCPm multivariable vision bender for their existing Goss press and a new MAN Uniset press. Additional El Universo purchased a NELA HAO-P semi-automatic bender for back-up purposes for the MAN Uniset press. Vanguardia Liberal, Bucaramanga, Colombia: NELA Benchmark placed in connection with two ECRM CTP lines for the existing Goss Urbanite press and new DGM press. NELA Slot locks were also installed on the Goss Urbanite press to match punch/bending specifications of the new DGM press. Vanguardia Liberal also purchased a Classic II bender and EM Punch for back up for both presses. Jornal Do Comercio, Recife, Brazil: NELA VCP vision bender connected to an Agfa CTP line. Artes Graficas Lioraleñas, Santa Fe, Argentina: NELA VCP vision bender connected with an ECRM CTP line to process plates for their new Goss Uniliner press. Quebecor, Santiago, Chile: Special plate stacking system with carts for a new MAN Lithoman press and their existing presses.
