Optical Inspection Devices for the Rubber Industry

LIVI Inspection Machine

NELA LIVI

Main features:

  • Throughput up to 10 parts/second
  • Turning station for the inspection of both sides of an object
  • Geometry, flash, and surface inspections
  • Fast and automatic change-over
Function:

Thanks to its modular design, the inspection station can be configured to meet different requirements. These range from simple and very inexpensive inspection systems equipped with a measurement camera that inspects size, shape, and possible flash on O-rings, to more complex systems which have special multi-camerasensors in order to examine both sides of the seal.

Our specially designed multi-camera-sensor, accompanied by appropriate optimized lighting, offers unparalleled surface inspection capabilities. The surface can be viewed in high-contrast, which is substantially better than the popularly used diffused lighting. Contrary to a single camera with a mirror-system, the multi-camera arrangement inspects the surfaces of an O-ring from all sides (also the partition line) with the same high quality.

Technical Details:

Our modern inspection systems have proven to be very successful in the quality control of seals made from rubber, ceramic, or other similar materials.
Surface and Geometric Inspections for:

  • Quad and O-Rings for DIN 3771 N and S

These systems use state-of-the-art optical and contact-free inspection engineering techniques.  They are constructed with the newest algorithms in image processing, which guarantees a 100 percent inspection result along with user-friendly handling.

The image processing software contains progressive analytical processes for surface control, as well as an expert-system with fully-developed algorithms designed for artificial intelligence.  This not only ensures the most up-to-date software techniques, but also an outstanding inspection result.  The pattern recognition feature enables the system to assign different margins of error (tolerances) to specific defects, which also decreases the often high rate of pseudo-rejects.
